The new LYC Race Committee boat, Satan’s Toe, was delivered from Winter Harbor, Maine, on Thursday, May 27. Designed by Calvin Beal for commercial lobstering, the hull was built by Beal and finished at Sargent’s Custom Boats in Milbridge, Maine, to the specifications of the LYC Race Committee. She is 38 feet long and 15 feet wide, an ideal platform to conduct races for many years to come.
The 450 mile delivery took four days and was made in two stages. Member Jim Holland and Yard Manager Brendan Randell made the delivery from Winter Harbor to Onset, Massachusetts. There they were relieved by Regatta Committee Chairman Jed Kelly, along with
Cynthia and George Parthemos, who brought Satan’s Toe to her mooring at LYC. Satan’s Toe will be officially welcomed to the Club at a future date to be announced.
