Larchmont Yacht Club Webcam
A new Webcam has been installed for viewing
Larchmont Harbor. This camera has a much more powerful optical zoom that provides a better view of boats in the harbor.
The original Dockcam is for viewing the lawn and Main Dock.

The powerful zoom makes navigation more difficult and increases the
possibility of conflict between users. Please be considerate of other users and allow a reasonable amount of time to elapse (at least 5 seconds) before changing the view. If a conflict does occur, try to allow the other user some time to study his view before switching back to your view. If multiple users insist on viewing different locations, nobody wins.
Please close out the webcam windows when you are through viewing
the images. Each session generates data traffic and slows down the refresh rate for the other viewers.
Presets:
Eight preset buttons have been set up to facilitate navigation around the harbor. The presets are assigned from left to right. The first preset views the Junior Sailing dock and work dock. Each succeeding preset moves west with the eighth preset viewing Green Bell Number 1.
Zooming:
There are twelve levels of zoom on the Harbor Webcam. The first ten levels are optical zooms. The last two levels are digital zooms that just make the object appear larger without adding clarity. The Harbor cam has a zoom control to the left of the image, just above the preset buttons, for increasing or decreasing the zoom level.
The Dockcam only has a digital zoom that is not very useful. The dockcam zoom level can be adjusted with your mouse wheel.
Unfortunately, the cameras do not have any gauges to indicate the current level of zoom or the number of concurrent users. Each camera supports 30 concurrent users. The 31st user will see a gray image. So far we have not come close to 30 concurrent users.
Focus:
The autofocus on the Harborcam can become confused when you are panning and zooming. The camera focus usually corrects itself after a few seconds, so if the picture becomes fuzzy, just be patient. The camera will correct the focus in a few seconds.
