Race Week 2017

Dear Sailors,
Welcome to Larchmont Yacht Club’s 119th annual Race Week. We are excited to host sailors from near and far to compete and socialize during the nine-day regatta scheduled for July 15 to July 22.

Many one-design classes will sail their championship events as a part of Race Week. The Vanguard 15 class will be sailing their National Championship. Last year over 50 Vanguards competed in a fleet that included over 10 current and former college All American sailors. We hope to see similar levels of participation for 2017. The Etchells and Viper 640 fleets will be sailing their Long Island Sound and Mid-Atlantic championships, respectively, and are expecting a high turn-out. Other one-design classes anticipating both high quality and strong participation include the Shields, J/105, S Boats, Ideal 18 and PHRF fleets.

Big Boat and Classic crews will join the one-design fleets over both weekends of the event. All classes are invited to meet on a single starting line for a grand finale on Sunday July 22 for the third annual Execution Rock Race which is sure to provide both great competition and photo opportunities as boats of all sizes and shapes compete for elapsed and corrected time honors.

We look forward to seeing members, friends, and guests on the race course and ashore where we hope you will enjoy our hospitality and some of the many social activities that always make Larchmont Race Week a memorable event.
